Delivery Methodology

Six phases. No surprises.

Every Dinks Management engagement runs through the same disciplined arc. The phases are fixed; the depth in each is scaled to your project. You always know where you are, what comes next, and what it costs to proceed.

The method

A timeline you can hold us to

Each phase ends with a written gate: a short document stating what was produced, what was decided, and whether it makes sense to continue. You can stop after any gate and keep everything produced up to that point.

  1. Discovery

    1–2 weeks · Fixed fee

We sit with the people who do the work — not just the people who fund it — and map how information actually moves through your organization. Interviews, workflow walkthroughs, and a review of the systems currently in play. The output is a shared, written understanding of the problem, which turns out to be rarer than it sounds.

  2. Assessment

    1–3 weeks · Fixed fee

We examine the technical estate: infrastructure, applications, data quality, security posture, and vendor contracts. Findings are ranked by risk and cost, in plain language, with an honest note on what is fine as it is. Roughly a third of our assessments end by recommending a smaller project than the client expected.

  3. Design

2–4 weeks · Gate: approved specification

The design phase produces the blueprint: system specification, data models, interface contracts, capacity plan, and a phased implementation schedule. Every significant decision is recorded with its alternatives and reasoning. Nothing enters build until you have signed the specification — and understood it.

  4. Build & Integrate

Varies by scope · Weekly written status

Construction proceeds in demonstrable increments. Every two weeks at minimum, you see working software — not a status slide. Integrations are built with error handling, monitoring, and an audit trail from day one, because retrofitting those later is how budgets die.

  5. Migration & Cutover

    Planned window · Reversible steps

Data is migrated with validation counts on both sides, cutover steps are rehearsed, and every step has a rollback path. We schedule the final move inside an agreed window with your team on standby — and we do not call it done until the verification checklist is green, not merely until the data has moved.

  6. Handover & Support

2 weeks stabilization · Then optional retainer

You receive the complete package: documentation, runbooks, credentials, and a training session for the people who will operate the system. We stay close through a stabilization period, then step back. Many clients keep us on a light advisory retainer afterward — but the system is yours, fully, from day one.

Why gates matter

Commit in slices, never in leaps

The gate structure exists because trust should be earned in increments. After discovery, you can take our findings to another firm. After design, you can hand the specification to your own developers. We would rather win each phase on merit than lock you into a single looming contract.

In practice, almost every client who starts with discovery continues through build — because each gate arrives with working evidence, not promises.

What you hold at every gate

  • Everything produced so far, in writing
  • A clear price for the next phase
  • The right to pause or stop without penalty
  • Decisions recorded with their reasoning
  • A named senior lead who answers directly
